Youth Group

Youth Group is our Tuesday night group for 11-18s. We meet Tues 7:15-9pm term time.

We meet to give young people a chance to hang out together, meet new people, do fun activities, eat plenty of snacks, and hear a little bit about Jesus and the Christian faith. Most of the session we’ll be all together, but for part of the time we’ll split into two groups, years 7-9 and 10-13.

It’s a brilliant evening. Whether you would call yourself a Christian or are just wanting to explore what it is Christians believe. Come along and join us, we would love to see you! Everyone is welcome.

Bible Study Groups

In addition to our weekly meeting on a Tuesday we have two regular bible study groups.

1:eighty is for young people in school years 7-9.  We meet during the 10am service in Church. We meet in church first and then go over to the Youth Centre.  This is a chance to chat, eat food, pray and think about how we can apply God’s Word to our lives.

iNsight is for young people in school years 10-13.  We meet every week in the church lounge at 5:30pm on a Sunday evening to eat a meal together, catch up, to study the bible together and to pray.

Socials

Our programme includes social events (usually one big one every term). Recent trips including Clip & Climb, ice-skating, laser-quest, a pancake party, a film night and a barbecue!

We also attend ‘Sorted Nano’ and ‘Sorted’, joining together with other church youth groups from London and the south east for a day of bible teaching, sung worship, games, and more.

Weekend Away

In February half-term each year, our youth group goes away together for a weekend away jam-packed with fun activities, challenges, games, chill time. Come ready to hear God speak, as we invite a guest youth worker to open up God’s Word for us.

Camps

Young people from St John’s attend various summer camps, including Contagious, The Beach and Gatton. We recognise that these can be expensive, but they’re often extremely significant in young people coming to and growing in faith. Speak to George about bursaries available from church funds, or to make a donation to enable others to afford it.
